Bedford Academy students and staff were thrilled and honoured to host Canadian Olympic athletes David Kikuchi and Hugh Smith who proudly carried the Olympic Torch onto the grounds of Bedford Academy. David Kikuchi participated in the 2004 Olympic Games on Canada's Gymnastic Team and he and Hugh Smith are vying for spots on the 2008 team that will compete in Beijing. Next to the Olympic Rings themselves, the Olympic Flame is the most universally recognized symbol of the Games. It was a fantastic opportunity to begin our celebration of the Games as Bedford Academy is committed to the vision of the 2010 Games and yes; we will always "celebrate the possible".
