March Break 2010

A reminder for parents and students that our March Break will begin on March 15th and conclude March, 26th. Students will return to school on Monday March, 29th.

Bedford Academy Supports Haiti Relief

As has been its history, Bedford Academy once again rose to the occasion with charitable relief for those in need. Through a school fund raiser, $5300.00 was raised and donated to the Director of the Red Cross who were coordinating the school relief effort for Haiti.

Commander Chris Hache Presents Slides

Grades Three to Nine were fortunate to have as their guest Commander Chris Hache who recently returned from a tour of duty in Haiti. Commander Hache shared slides he prepared of the devastation he witnessed firsthand in Port Aux Prince. Fate played a role in his safe return as he arrived in Haiti a mere two hours before the earthquake. Due to delays at the airport he was not in his base residence when the quake struck. That building was completely destroyed during the disaster and resulted in many deaths, some being some fellow Canadians stationed there.

Broncos Playoffs

Congratulations to our three teams with their impressive victories over the weekend in winning their Division League Championships. Our Mini Boys, Mini Girls and Bantam basketball teams “owned the podium” and received their medals and trophies proudly on behalf of the school. Congratulations to Coaches Bell, Haliburton, Narvos and Whitney for an outstanding job. A special banner ceremony will take place in April to commemorate this athletic achievement

Science Fair

This year’s annual Science Fair will take place in Academy Hall on Monday, March 8th. Students from Grades 5 to 9 will present their scientific findings to our judges from 9:00am- 11:00am. Parents are invited to tour after the judging at 11:00am-noon.

Bedford Academy Family Skate

Our Family Skate will be held on Tuesday, March 9th at the Lebrun Rink from 12:30pm to 1:30pm. All Academy families are invited to attend and join in the fun. The Bedford Ice Hockey team will play at noon-12:30pm

Talent Show

The students of Bedford Academy always enjoy the chance to showcase their amazing talents at our School Talent Show which will take place on Friday, March 12th at 11:00am in Academy Hall. Auditions will run through the first week in March with the successful "Idols" taking the stage on Friday morning

March Break Warm Up Party

As we prepare for this year’s Break the students and teachers of the Academy traditionally start off the holiday with a "Caribbean Themed Party." Congo lines, tropical music and ice cream floats will be the order of the day as the festivities kick into high gear on Friday, March 12th following the Talent Show. The festivities will continue at 1:00pm.
